Quote

"It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all-in which case, you fail by default."
-J.K.Rowling

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they are right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall into place."

Mistakes

You’re at your friend’s to see her freshly made science model. It’s on the table. You pick it up for closer examination and its slips out of your grasp, on to the floor. Mistake.
The noise pulls your friend to the spot. She looks down and then at you. You are told to go away. Intention.
My mistake is a mistake, yours intention?
A mistake is a mistake, neither yours nor mine.
But a mistake happens and is made once. If done again then it seizes to be a mistake.
Take the lesson from a mistake. You’ve made it. It’s done. Regret isn’t making it any better. Take the lesson and move ahead.
Stay with the pinch of it. Not the regret.
Life is lived and loved today, right now. Live it. Love it. Yesterday is not making a difference and you can’t make a difference to the future. The present is a gift from god. That is why it’s the "present". Appreciate it. Be grateful. Smile. Live elated.

Painting of the soul

When going to the guru empty yourself.
Once Buddha gathered 100 people for a sermon. People waited eagerly for Buddha to talk but he sat absolutely silent.
All of a sudden a disciple Mahakashaya started laughing. Buddha called him in front and presented him with a lotus. He told the people “What can be conveyed through words I have told you people, what cannot be told through words I have told Mahakashya.” Saying this he walked away.
It was a heart to heart transfer.
The Bhagavad Gita was conveyed by Krishna to Arjuna in the same way. Only the receptive can understand it.
When going to the Guru one must empty them selves.
The Guru is there to fill in colors to your soul’s canvas. It however must be remembered that a canvas will always look beautiful if old paints are not overlapped by new ones.
Let your canvas be blank, empty as they may, for the Guru to work wonders on it.
The Guru has the power to put everything in place. He is the one window in a room through which the light filters in. Let that light shine in. Leave the window wide open.
